Unfinished pots

Life has been a little overwhelming over the past few weeks, in a positive way! It feels like we've been secretly juggling too many things at the same time, and some days we fear dropping any of them. Between our cookbook with Live Well Co, a secret print project to be launched next Summer, a potential Forest City Cookbook comeback, taking pottery classes, making collaborations with small-business friends, shaping and growing our new brand, enjoying the nice weather, catching up with our reading list and keeping up with our lifestyle goals, there has been little time for distractions.

Overwhelmed and all, we are totally enjoying this stage; the in-between, the gray area, the hard-working phase, the transformation of ideas into tangible outcomes. We acknowledge that things will eventually come to completion, but right now, we want to pause and admire our "unfinished pots." Not focusing on the end results, just appreciating the process!

We feel thankful for being right here, right now, understanding that beauty is in the doing, not in the finished task. Because once you cross something off a list, launch a product or publish a book, the only thing left to do is move on to the next, start new projects, find new mountains to climb and keep going!

Society often celebrates "overnight success," and platforms like Instagram reinforce that practice by inspiring us to share the happy moments, the milestones and the accomplishments instead of the daily grind. Everyone hits like on a marathon finisher picture, but who wants people posting their same running loop every single day for months? That is why we've been enjoying our project update blogposts and emails; they act like a shareable journal and capture the process, not just cheer on finished products.

Today we choose to celebrate the chaos that the creative process entails and express how proud we are of ourselves for sticking to our routine, prioritizing health, not sacrificing sleep or workouts and following the Goldilocks rule in our work, "not too little, not too much, just right!" Of course, some weeks are easier than others in that sense, but in the grand scheme of things, we're doing pretty good with our "unfinished pots"!

A finished "pot" from an unfinished series!

Speaking of enjoying the process, our collaboration brew with the lovely people from Booch Organic Kombucha is ready to launch! Although we're a little sad that it is coming to an end, we're thankful for the beautiful summer-long journey that helped strengthen our friendship. This is the first of many, as we hope to continue this new tradition of celebrating all Summer and Winter Solstices by collaborating with our small-business friends!

Our Summer Solstice brew will be available this weekend starting Thursday, September 2nd! It is a one of a kind brew made with local organic ingredients. We hand-painted the original label and will be planting one tree in the Amazon Rainforest for every bottle sold! <3

We have to thank the Culinary Farm for the incredibly delicious passion fruit, Loco Fields for their energizing ginger, Palatine Roses for the juicy Peaches, Bettina for the foraged calendula and starflower, and of course Shannon from Booch Organic Kombucha for the memorable adventure!

It will be sold exclusively at the Booch Tap Room on 1027 Clarke Rd and we produced a very limited number of bottles so don't wait too long! Open Thursday 3pm-8pm, Friday 1pm-6pm and
Saturday 9am-2pm!

Much love,
Alieska
