Live Well Photoshoots Week #3

The first day was the most beautiful! The magic of photographing salads is that it is almost effortless to make them look pretty. We cannot say the same for beige and brown meat and potatoes! Bah! All of our dishes for Monday looked and tasted amazing!

We decided to take Wednesday off to reset and reload some energies, so we went to a cottage near Bayfield to enjoy a little one-day family vacation. We believe in quality more than quantity, so we are taking things slow to the point where they get done at an enjoyable and flexible pace.

We expected the trip to energize us and give us the power to keep moving, but it did the opposite. You're probably all familiar with "needing a day off from the day off." We had the most fun at the beach, but we then required a day off to rest from the good times. So we swapped our Friday photoshoot for Saturday and made our weekend shorter. Things piled up a little on the editing side, but we made it work and planned to get ahead of our timeline for the following week.

We wrapped up the week with a sweet, sweet session of desserts that included caramel popcorn, decadent raw brownies, a super-loaded stone fruit board, a mango sticky rice 2.0 and a tropical bruléed pineapple. The dessert chapter is one of our favourites, because ALL of the recipes are “feel-good” desserts–you feel good eating them and you feel good after! No guilt and no junk ingredients. Desserts are rewards, we eat them mostly for pleasure, so we aimed to combine the best of both worlds and make them nutritious as well as decadent!

Join us behind the scenes through our Youtube channel, blog and newsletter, we're doing our best to capture everything about the creative process through video, photos and writing. And we'd love to read your comments and feedback along the way!
